Product Description
It's the most popular new form of cardiovascular exercise in fitness facilities today. Introduced by Precor, the Precor 546 Elliptical features a no-impact, forward or reverse elliptical stride that lets your members adjust ramp and resistance for cross training benefits. On the Precor 546, you stride smoothly while holding the handrails or moving your arms in natural sync, with or without hand weights. The exclusive, electronically adjustable Cross Ramp lets you change the slope of the stride with the touch of a key to vary muscle emphasis. Studies confirm that the Precor 546 provides excellent aerobic conditioning, muscle involvement, and range of motion. Best of all, exercisers report lower rates of perceived exertion on the Precor EFX 546 than on traditional machines. This means that the Precor 546 encourages exercisers to work out harder and more productively. Why Buy Remanufactured Gym Equipment?Remanufactured equipment provides an affordable and increasingly popular way to develop new commercial and home fitness centers. It also provides an excellent way to support existing centers as well. The Remanufacturing ProcessAfter an order is placed, it enters our 2-6 week remanufacturing process.During this process, our certified technicians strip and rebuild the machine, replacing any parts which do not meet our production standards.Machines are then restored cosmetically, receiving new overlays, paint, and stickers as needed.Following the remanufacturing process, machines are individually tested before they are released for shipping. The Elliptical is taken apart and receives a new drive belt, hardware, ramps, wheels, incline track assembly, and console housing/overlay as needed. Once the elliptical is put back together, it will be cleaned, polished and painted.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.
Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.
Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

Wonderful machine. I find this a great way to work out or to warm up before lifting weights at the gym. This machine is the kind you find at health clubs. It's extremely durable and sturdy.

By Jen Gartner
I use the Precor EFX 546 at least 4 days a week at my rec center and would absolutely buy one for my house if I had the space for it. For quite a while, I used the interval training course, but now I appreciate the manual option. I like adjusting the incline and resistance levels to work out distinct lower-body muscle groups, and I go hands-free to sneak in a great core workout. I wear a Polar heart rate monitor when I exercise, and this machine gives me the greatest bang for my buck in terms of calorie burn; I usually burn 10 real calories per minute (do not trust the calorie counter on the EFX, or really on any piece of cardio equipment - always verify using a heart rate monitor). On a "standard" elliptical, I only burn about 6 calories per minute, so the Precor EFX is definitely a great choice if you don't have tons of time to exercise. I'm 36 years old, 5'4", and went from 141 lbs to 118 lbs in a few months. The muscle definition in my legs has never been better, not even when I was playing soccer.

By Anne Carr
When I first starting using this machine I worked out for about 10 minutes and thats all I could handle. Within a week I worked up to 20 or 30 minutes and then increased it to 1 hour 3 to 4 times a week. What I love about this machine is you get immidiate results. I am 5'7 and I went from around 155-160 pounds to 130 pounds in about 6 weeks. I went from a size 10 fitting tightly to a size 4. I had it set on interval training I beleive. I saw most of the weight loss in my hip, thigh, butt area. I have never felt better in my life than I do when I use this machine on a regular basis. You will be sore initially and it takes a lot of will power to stay on it but if you do you will definately get results. I usually would make sure my hair is up and keep a fan blowing on me for comfort or I could not make it through the workout as well as watch tv to keep my mind off of the excercise. I used mine at the gym. I would love to have one for home, just haven't saved the money yet.
